Have you ever worked so hard at something and then get to the point when you are tired of working SO DAMN HARD.
It feels like you are running down a hallway to reach a door but the hallway gets longer and longer and the door is never in reach?
You know what you want, you know how to get it but sometimes it feels like a grind?
And then, that moment when you ask yourself:
"What's the point? Why I am working so damn hard EVERY DAMN DAY and my goals are SO OUT OF REACH".
Then you think of quitting, and giving up on your dreams and taking the easy route.
That was me, YESTERDAY. I succumbed to self-doubt, self-pity and fear of failure.
We all have those moments when you think THIS IS TOO HARD. Preparing healthy meals, going to the gym, working relentlessly at your job, raising your kids. Sometimes you just want to throw in the towel and go live in a van down by the river (anyone who gets this reference gets kudos from me).
HERE IS MY PEP TALK TO YOU (AND TO MYSELF)
DON'T DO IT. DON'T QUIT ON YOUR GOALS AND YOUR DREAMS THAT YOU WANT FOR YOURSELF AND YOUR LIFE.
To become successful you must fail over and over again. You must feel weak and overcome weakness to become stronger. Failure is your teacher and is there to help you grow and become better and stronger, by overcoming adversity and learning from your mistakes.
You only get one life.
Don't live it with the regret of not giving it your all and quitting on your dreams.
If you want it bad enough, no matter how bad it is, you can overcome it and make it.
DOES YOUR GOAL FEEL OUT OF REACH?
Embrace the journey, not the end result. Embrace the work you are putting in day in and day out to become the best version of yourself. Never settle for less then what you truly deserve. It is about self improvement. It is about becoming a better version of yourself today then you were yesterday.
And don't be silly to scale it to make it "attainable".
REACH FOR THE STARS.
Set shorter goals for yourself or just use your daily progress to motivate you as you get closer and closer to the life of your dreams.
Feeling out of your comfort zone?
Leave comfort behind and keep on pushing through the fear, the doubt and the resistance that comes your way. Don't let your self-limiting beliefs limit you or stop you from aiming for the top.
Embrace the journey rather than focus on the goal. If you love the process, the journey and embrace the good, the bad and the ugly than you have already won.
You are winning EVERY DAY THAT YOU DO NOT GIVE UP.
You are winning every day that you KEEP GOING despite any resistance, self-doubt or other people telling you that IT IS IMPOSSIBLE.
Nothing is impossible.
WHAT YOU FEEL ISN'T ALWAYS REAL.
Shatter your self-limiting beliefs and mute the naysayers in your life. Change the negative to a positive:
I CAN'T DO THIS => I WILL TRY
WHAT'S THE POINT? => WHAT IS THERE TO LOSE?
I AM SCARED OF FAILURE => FAILURE WILL HELP ME ACHIEVE MY GOAL
I AM NOT GOOD ENOUGH => I AM TRYING MY BEST
I CAN'T BEAT HIM/HER => I CAN BEAT MY YESTERDAY'S SELF
THE GOAL IS TOO HARD/TOO FAR ==> IT IS WORTH IT/MY "WHY" IS MORE IMPORTANT
SO... WHAT IS THE POINT?
The point is to love your life and live every day in parallel with your hopes and dreams. Not because someone tells you, not because of some extrinsic reward of a title, a number on the scale or the love and admiration of others. You work towards your goal because YOU WANT IT. If you want it bad enough, and SUCCESS IS THE ONLY OPTION, then it doesn't even feel like work.
Seek self-improvement, seek wisdom in your daily life and grow with each mistake, bump, failure, fart you encounter.
Yesterday I thought "what's the point?" and now I know.... And next time I will remember.
The point is EVERYTHING.
I want to live my life the best way I can. The best way I know how to do that is to strive to be MY BEST in everything I do. If I DO MY BEST I may not win, but I WILL SUCCEED, no matter what the outcome is.
And the truth is, it ends the same with all of us. No one is getting out alive. So ask yourself the question again.
What's the point?
If you want it, you need to keep on going. Trust yourself and your future. Success is the only option.
"Success is peace of mind, which is a direct result of self-satisfaction in knowing you made the effort to do your best to become the best you are capable of becoming" -John Wooden
