On Maternity Leave! Will be back soon!

Stop being an Eeyore. I did and it changed my life.

I've been blogging for a while now. One thing that I've noticed is that people love to hear about suffering, pain, failures and vulnerabilities. They also love to hear the stories about resilience, pushing through the hard times and overcoming obstacles. As do I. What people don't like hearing are stories of how great everything is, how strong you are and how perfect your life is. Why not?

Living the life of your dreams isn't about perfection. It isn't the perfect body and six pack abs. Living the life of your dreams isn't about running through fields like in "The Sound of Music". It isn't having perfect well behaved children or dogs, being the perfect parent, lover, daughter or friend. You will not find the life of your dreams on a scale, nor can you buy it, inject it, smoke it or drink it.

Living the life of your dreams is about progress not perfection. It is about accepting that you are perfectly imperfect. It is about deciding to create the life that you've always wanted rather then letting life control the outcome of it. No matter what situation you are currently in.

We all have our stories. Our hardships and our triumphs that make us who we are. You are unique, just like everybody else... But your situation isn't.  If you feel like you are as far away as possible from the "life of your dreams" know that someone else has overcome whatever obstacle you are facing, or have died trying.

No matter what your circumstances are the life of your dreams is within reach. It's all about a MINDSHIFT. You can continue to suffer, complain, ignore your way through your life or you can take charge of it.

Change your mindset and change your life.

The life of your dreams is within you. You need to go and find it.

Living the life of your dreams is pushing through resistance and getting through. It's about wanting to press snooze but going to the gym instead. It's about failing and getting up and trying again. It's about wanting to eat the chips but choosing the salad instead. Not because you want to be skinny, but because you want to have energy and vitality.

It's about finishing the work you need to do, but you really don't want to do. It's about following through on your word. It's about doing what's right, and not what is easy. It's about staying focused and not getting distracted by shiny objects, celebrities and empty time wasters. It's about being present with your kids and laughing with your friends.

Think about the best times of your life. For me it was about pushing through the darkness to find the light. It was about taking control of my health, my body and my mind. It was about doing something that scared me and pushing through the fear. Those were the best times.

The other day someone made a comment about how I was too positive. "What's up with all that motivational crap?"

Here is my answer to anyone else out there who feels this way. I made a conscious effort to change my way of thinking. To wake up every morning happy to be alive and to create the life of my dreams. I still have the same fears and doubts that I used to write about in www.fitlikemia.com but now I choose to re-create my life and focus on the positive. And let me tell you. It works.

I created a routine to help me when the resistance comes. The fear, doubt and the forces of evil are strong and ever present. My life is not close to perfect. The resistance comes often and with great gusto, but my state of mind has helped me push through it all, and come out on the other side, beaming with pride that I pushed through.

Since I mindshifted I have accomplished great things. I almost don't recognize my life anymore. Sometimes I have to pinch myself to see that I am not dreaming. That is the truth. Once I started believing it could happen it did. I have also failed and made mistakes. Lots. I've learned from them and moved on.

Like I said. Progress not perfection.

Stop Eeyoreing your life away. Start living the life of your dreams. Go get what you deserve for yourself.

It is yours if you want it.

"Good morning, Pooh Bear," said Eeyore gloomily.
"If it is a good morning," he said. "Which I doubt," said he
"Why, what's the matter?"
"Nothing, Pooh Bear, nothing. We can't all, and some of us don't. That's all there is to it."
"Can't all what?" said Pooh, rubbing his nose."Gaiety. Song-and-dance. Here we go round the mulberry bush."

A great life isn't all Gaiety, song and dance and here we go round the mulberry bush. A great life requires some darkness because without it you wouldn't see the light. It is about finding the light in the darkest times rather then focusing on the shadow.

The life of your dreams is about love, gratitude, strength, resilience and integrity no matter what circumstances life brings you.

It isn't always easy, but it will be worth it.

Trust yourself and your future.

With Love and Gratitude,

Coach Mia
